Peach Pie Round 1

On Friday, I made some peach pie. Ever since going to the farm I've been craving peach pie. I have a strange love for peaches.  Maybe it started with James and the Giant Peach  and at one point I really wanted to be a peach farmer. That didn't go too well with the parents.

There is no recipe below because I am still working on the flavors and textures.

Turning 40

My sister turned the big 40 earlier this month. We threw her a surprise party.

remember this craft in elementary school? tissue paper square, pencil end and some glue is all you need.
strawberry chiffon cake, chocolate sheet cake, raspberry squares, hello dolly bars

First time making kimbap. Made me think of my mom.

Some friends were visiting from the East Coast and I made some red velvet cupcakes. Looks good, but it was dry. I owe them another dessert.

road trip

We took a little road trip up the California Coast. It was a nice little getaway.

Our first stop was Splashes for clam chowder and steamers.

The next day we went to Avila Beach and did nothing. I loved it!

mini donuts...they were good but not as good as the ones at Pike's Place in Seattle

That night we went to Klondike Pizza.

The next day we went to Arroyo Grande. It was an adorable little town. I felt like I was in an episode of the Gilmore Girls.

That afternoon we went to the Avila Farm picking peaches & berries & eating hand held pies.  I loved picking peaches or rather eating them.

14 years & pineapple mango upside cake

Last month we celebrated our 14th anniversary. How did 14 years pass by so quickly?!

we went to a nearby italian place

then we watched the sunset while freezing our butts off
fiddling around with instagram

I made a pineapple mango upside cake. A recipe from Martha Stewart. It was good, but I wanted more pineapple flavor. The next time I am going to bake it I think I will add pineapple bits to the batter.
